How Gregory Group handles it.
A roof leak is rarely where the ceiling stain is. Water gets in at one point, runs along the underside of the decking or down a rafter, and drips wherever gravity finally wins. That is why a leak patched at the obvious spot so often comes back with the next rain.
Fixing leaky roofs is one of the things our team specializes in, and it starts with finding where the water enters. On most North Texas homes the usual suspects are the same: cracked or rusted roof vents, dried-out pipe boots around plumbing stacks, flashing that has pulled away where the roof meets a wall or chimney, valleys where debris has held water against the shingles, and shingles torn or lifted by wind.
How It Works
Inspect
Using a checklist, a trained inspector goes over the critical areas inside and out to find the source of the problem.
Educate
You get a list of any damage with photographs, a plain explanation of what needs repairing or replacing, and answers to your questions.
Perform
The same person who inspected your roof sits down with you to go over the damage and your options, including pricing and payment plans. The work then runs with a project manager on site and a magnet sweep and cleanup at the end.
The Difference
The details that decide the outcome.
Homeowners often assume a leak means a new roof. Sometimes it is a single bad vent, and replacing and sealing it is the whole job. When a leak really does point to a roof at the end of its life, you will hear that too, with photographs to show why.
Leaks are also common just after winter weather. Ice and snow sit on a roof, melt slowly and find their way under shingles and flashing that shed rain without trouble the rest of the year. When the ice melts and a stain appears, it is worth a look before spring storms add to it.
While the leak is being traced, the damage it has already done gets checked as well. Wet decking, soaked insulation and stained drywall all need attention, and damaged decking under a leak is replaced as part of the repair.
If water is coming in during a storm, call rather than filling out a form. Emergency service is available 24 hours a day, and a temporary fix to keep water out comes before the permanent repair.

Leak Repair, answered.
What should I do right now if my roof is leaking?
Move valuables, put a bucket under the drip and, if the ceiling is bulging with water, poke a small hole in the center to let it drain into the bucket. Stay off the roof. Then call (214) 354-6753.
Why does my roof only leak in heavy rain?
Wind-driven rain gets under flashing and shingles at angles that light rain never reaches. It usually points to a flashing, vent or valley problem rather than a failed roof.
Is a leak covered by insurance?
A leak caused by storm damage often is. A leak caused by age or wear usually is not. The inspection will show which it is.
Can a small leak wait?
It can cause more damage than it looks like. Wet decking rots, insulation holds water and mold can start in the attic long before a stain appears. Have it looked at soon.
